SERPINB1-related Survival Benefit in Medulloblastoma
Medulloblastoma (MB) is one of the most common pediatric brain cancers, accounting for approximately 20% of all primary brain tumors in children. Despite available treatments, about 30% of patients do not achieve a cure, and survivors often face significant long-term impairments in their quality of life. SERPINB1 protein expression was shown to correlate with increased survival in medulloblastoma patients.
This study aims to elucidate how SERPINB1 expression can affect patient survival. SERPINB1 is involved in multiple cellular processes, some of which are apoptosis, anoikis, sensitivity to chemotherapy, sensitivity to immune cell killing, proliferation, and migration.
